Karen is devoted to serving the needs of her clients before, during, and long after their real estate transactions. Being passionate about the business is why Karen has been able to build her clientele through working by referral. Her goal is to care for her clients’ home buying and selling needs far beyond their expectations-- to earn their loyalty as well as their referrals to family and friends.
Education and Professional Background
Karen started her business in residential real estate with Coldwell Banker in 2001. She’s a graduate of the University of Maryland, with graduate coursework at George Washington University. Prior to her real estate career, Karen was a published research analyst for the U.S. Congress and editor of the University of Houston’s Energy Laboratory Newsletter. She brings her professional research and writing skills, as well as her creativity to her real estate business. Her clients have benefited greatly from her experience gained in these fields, and her extreme attention to detail. “Taking really good care of my clients, together with researching and managing every aspect of buying and selling their homes—that’s what I like best about real estate.” To stay on top of the “…ever-changing California real estate market,” helps her better serve her wide client base; from first-home homebuyers to seniors (and everything in between). Karen also enjoys continued real estate education in negotiating, legal and contractual issues, and earning many “specialist” real estate designations.

Real Estate for Karen and her family is generational (her Mother and grandmother were Realtors, and her husband has been in commercial real estate since 1980). Originally from New Orleans and married since 1972, Karen and Gary have four adult children and two adorable grandchildren, and have been residents of Walnut Creek since 1982.
"Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez” is a signature phrase for my hometown,New Orleans, and it’s my life motto too: Let the good times roll! I love to have a good time—particularly one that includes cooking, entertaining, loud music and dancing. I have a weakness for punch bowls and anything sterling silver. And I am passionate about hand-written notes, flower-arranging, gift-wrapping, gardening, reading, traveling with my husband, taking classes, learning anything new, and mentoring young women (especially young Mom’s).
A lifetime ago, I made my living doing research and writing and I am blessed to be married to my husband since 1972, have 4 adult children, two precious grandchildren and a lucrative career that involves helping others fulfill their dreams.
